Enjoying a last hurrah at the beach. Does anyone know what the heck that is? It came up from the sand and expanded, and then went back into the sand, disappearing.
Ok, I know it's the 8th of September, but still... can you believe it's here? I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to summer: dinners at the beach, sailing, and trips to the dairy twist. But who doesn't love September: apple picking, back to school clothes, and cool evening walks on the beach.
William started kindergarten on August 27th. So far, so good. After three years of Montessori School, and no toys in the classroom, to say William was excited when he saw Legos in the classroom, would be a bit of an understatement. I'm a bit nervous that he's going to be bored soon. He reads at a 2nd grade level, and has all his additions and subtractions memorized. I sort of mentioned this to his teachers, but not wanting to come off as one of those mums who "think" their kid is brilliant, I kept my comments pretty low-key. To ensure his reading skills stay at this level, I make him read me a new book every night + I made addition + subtraction practice books for him. It's only been a week of school, so I am hoping we'll see him doing real work soon.
Davis starts school this Thursday. We've been having a lot of one-on-one quality time together. This is my last year of having her for the afternoons. Next year she will be in kindergarten. Blows my mind.
I swear I am not getting older, how come they are?
I keep thinking... how lucky these teachers are...they get to spend all this time with my kids...and they get paid to do it. :) Not a bad gig.
Welcome September! Looking forward to cool evenings, apple crisp, sweaters, leaves falling, and enjoying every single day.
