The kids are back in school and we're settling into a new routine. Thank god. This week has been insane. I feel like I've been living in the car driving the kids here and there. We've had doctor's appointments and errands galore. Can't wait for next week to be a bit more settled.
Here are a few things that I've been working on. I've been trying out many new sewing techniques. {well new to me} I haven't been too successful, but I'm learning. Today I'm off to the bookstore to pick up a sewing book :) Thanks for all the recommendations!
The square pincushion was/is a disaster, but I think I now know how to approach it. For the flower applique should I hand stitch them or use my machine? I am finishing up a t-shirt for William. It's a drawing he did and it's pretty cute. I've been doing it all by hand. I'm pretty sure it's not going to hold up to machine washing, but William is excited to wear it. I'll take some photos later today of it.
One of the things I did make but haven't shown here, are silkscreen tags for the kids clothing. But what a pain in the butt. After sewing tags into their backpacks, coats, and some clothing, I realized I should have found some iron-on fabric that I could silkscreen on. That's way easier than hand-stitching. Sometimes I wonder why I make things so difficult for myself. Does anything exist out there that I can adhere to the back of the ribbon to make them adhere to clothing?
I can't help it, but here are some photos of the kids off to School. {for my family} Yesterday when I picked William up from School on his first day, I asked how his day was and his response, "it was awesome." Davis chimed in, saying, "I saw William on the playground mum and he gave me a big hug! It was nice." Isn't that the sweetest thing? Sure beats him giving her his normal love tap on her arm and making her cry :)
