oh those crazy kids make me smile and forget to wipe my nose :) yup, that last comment means I'm sick. I woke up this morning with my head feeling a bit stuffy + my nose dripping. As the day progressed, so did my cold. boo hoo.
I hate getting sick, especially in the Spring. It just doesn't seem right. I"m pretty sure I got the cold from my sister Nicole. {She had a nasty cold last week} Last Friday night we attended an event together held by FUSION. Jane Clayson Johnson was the guest speaker. She spoke about the importance of motherhood... following your passion + walking in your own shoes. It was a wonderful event. Her words brought tears to my eyes as she spoke of her journey of being a TV reporter + leaving it all behind to be what she always wanted + dreamed of being... A mother.
Imagine. Someone who, from afar, had it all. The career, the fame, the wealth. She left it all. She reminded us, that being a MOTHER is the hardest, the most important, and at times the most thankless job in the world. But.. and it's a really big but... the most rewarding :)
I was invited to this event by Whitney Johnson, a fellow blogger. She left a really nice comment on my blog about a month ago. I wrote her back. Turns out she lives in the Boston area. She's quite a remarkable woman. Seriously, go to her blog to learn about her + her journey. It's really inspiring. I'm really happy I had the opportunity to meet her :)
Well, before I sign off and head to bed, those little button bobby pins above... I made :) I'm telling you, I'm becoming more crafty everyday. They are half inch buttons that I covered with fabric. I used some pliers to remove the little button thingy on the back. {i think that's the technical term for it :) } I used hot glue to adhere the bobby pin to the back. I also made some pushpin tacks... I'll show those later this week.
Thanks for stopping by!
